SMS + email

Message applicants the way they answer.

The applicant record includes a chat-style message workspace. Public messages here are simulated; live sending requires a configured provider, and replies appear only after inbound routing is verified.

Interactive preview. Pick a template or type your own, then send. Replies are simulated.

Enable and use SMS

Configure and verify before texting.

SMS needs an employer-authorized provider, sender, webhook routing, consent and any required carrier registration. Setup is not complete until a controlled test succeeds.

01

Connect a sender

An administrator connects a business-owned Twilio account and sender, configures inbound/status webhooks, and completes any required carrier registration. Apex does not provision or register the number automatically.

02

Set your sending rules

Choose quiet hours, who can send, and whether hiring managers can text or only recruiters. The opt-out footer is added for you on first contact.

03

Add templates

Write the five messages you send every day once. Merge fields pull the applicant name, job title, interview time and scheduling link.

04

Send from the record

Open an applicant, choose Message and prepare an email or text. Delivery is available only after the relevant provider is connected and verified; replies need inbound routing.

Send a message to an applicant

From the record to their phone.

  1. 1Open the applicant. From a job’s pipeline, click the name, or search from anywhere.
  2. 2Click Message. Choose SMS or Email in the composer. Both use the same thread.
  3. 3Type a message or choose a template. Preview shows the merged text before you send.
  4. 4Send only after the provider shows ready and the applicant has given the required consent.
  5. 5Verify an inbound reply reaches the correct applicant record before using the channel for recruiting.

What is included

Everything a recruiter needs to reply fast.

Two-way SMS

Requires an employer-authorized sender, provider setup and a tested inbound reply route.

Email in the same thread

Email delivery and reply capture require a verified sender domain and inbound routing configuration.

Shared inbox

Workspace access controls which recruiter can review applicant conversations.

Templates and merge fields

Screening, scheduling, reminders and rejections, written once.

Bulk send by stage

Text everyone in “Applied” for one job, with a per-applicant preview before it goes.

Compliance built in

Consent, opt-out and quiet-hour controls are enforced in the application; carrier delivery still depends on provider configuration.

Compliance

Texting applicants, done properly.

  • Application forms can capture SMS consent where configured
  • Recognized opt-outs are blocked when inbound routing is enabled
  • Configured quiet hours can block sends
  • Opt-out behavior depends on workspace and provider setup
  • Message history is available when delivery and storage are configured
  • Complete any required sender registration with the provider

See it live

See the inbox with your own applicants.

We can review your messaging setup and run an authorized test after the sender, consent rules and inbound routing are configured.
