Turn on SMS messaging

SMS requires a workspace-specific provider configuration and acceptance test. Contact the Apex administrator before enabling it for applicant outreach.

Steps

  1. 1Ask the Apex administrator whether the production sender, inbound route and status callback are configured for this workspace.
  2. 2Confirm consent, opt-out handling, quiet hours and the final message text before testing.
  3. 3Use an approved test number and complete both an outbound delivery and inbound reply test.
  4. 4Keep applicant outreach disabled until the workspace owner accepts the test results.

The public interactive preview simulates messages. Provider credentials are configured by an Apex administrator on the server; do not paste secret keys into a workspace form or share them in chat. A live workspace needs an authorized Twilio sender, inbound webhooks, consent controls and a successful round-trip test before candidate outreach.

US carrier registration (A2P 10DLC)

US carrier registration requirements depend on the sender and messaging setup. Confirm current registration, approval and delivery status with the provider before sending applicant messages.

Consent

Only text applicants who consented. The careers-page application form offers an SMS consent checkbox and records the applicant's selection with the application. For imported or board-originated applicants, do not infer consent from the application source; obtain and record any required permission before texting.
