A job in Apex is both the posting applicants see and the scoring rubric that ranks them. Spending five extra minutes on keywords and knockouts pays back every time a new application arrives, because the strongest applicants sort themselves to the top.
Choosing keywords
- Use the words a candidate would actually write on a resume: CDL-A, RN, ServSafe, forklift, QuickBooks.
- Add common variants as separate keywords (Registered Nurse and RN). Matching is case-insensitive and whole-word.
- Keep must-haves short. Three to six is typical. Everything else is a nice-to-have.
Job status
Draft jobs are private. Open jobs accept applications and count toward your plan's open role limit. Paused jobs stay visible to your team but are hidden from the careers page and feed. Closed jobs keep their applicants and history and can be reopened.
